Command Beyond the Corner.
RF command and control for the moment line of sight disappears.
CanyonRF is a patent-pending physical-layer RF capability developed to extend C2 continuity for uncrewed aerial and ground systems in obstruction-dominated environments—including dense urban terrain, damaged structures, and subterranean spaces. It is designed to complement the radio and network architecture already on the platform.
The platform can turn the corner or clear the doorway. The RF link has to follow.
When an uncrewed system enters a structure, moves behind cover, or descends below grade, the direct signal path can disappear in seconds. Communications—not mobility—can become the mission constraint, interrupting teleoperation and forcing the system into fallback behaviors.
The usual response adds burdens to the mission:
- tethers and spools
- dedicated relay assets
- route and maneuver constraints
- increased operator workload
Extend the link. Keep the stack.
CanyonRF is not a replacement radio.
It is a physical-layer RF capability intended to complement existing tactical radios, waveforms, network software, and command-and-control systems. CanyonRF addresses C2 continuity when terrain and structures obstruct the direct signal path, creating a potential integration path for radio manufacturers and platform developers that need differentiated performance in complex environments.
Engineered for the integration conversation.
A working prototype has been demonstrated in a relevant environment. Productization would be shaped with the host system around its RF architecture, mission profile, integration constraints, and certification path.
- Complementary by Design: intended to augment the installed radio and network architecture—not displace them.
- Platform-Conscious Productization: host-system power, thermal, payload, cost, and interface constraints would inform the final implementation.
- Broad Integration Relevance: potential pathways span tactical-radio OEMs, uncrewed aerial and ground platforms, and systems integrators.
Seeking the right commercialization partner.
CanyonRF is available for strategic licensing and integration discussions. Matterium is evaluating tactical-radio manufacturers, uncrewed-platform developers, and systems integrators with the engineering capability, portfolio reach, customer access, and business-development infrastructure to productize the technology across platforms and mission sets.
